This future bride and groom chose the groom's grandparent's house in Moorseville, Indiana for their engagement session. Mooresville is a rural area on the west side of Indianapolis and provided us this beautiful wooded setting to capture some really fun moments with our couple. We were walking back through this wooded area to capture some photos at a clubhouse the groom's grandparents had built for the grandkids and the setting around us was just to pretty for us not to stop and take advantage of.
We are always encouraging our couples to have fun and laugh together during their engagement sessions. We sometimes use prompts to encourage interactions like the one you see in this image, we call this one, "dead weight." Following a prompt can feel a little silly at first but if you lean into it and have fun we get results like what you see above. Prompting is different from posing in that we only get the interaction started but we don't tell you exactly how to stand or what to do.
This couple had wanted to capture their engagement session in the fall, unfortunately Indiana's weather does not always cooperate and we ended up in dead forest season sooner than expected and so we had to reschedule for the Spring.
