Wedding Rings

Simple Detail Shot

There is a simple elegance to these white gold wedding rings. The bride's slim band is inlaid with diamonds while the groom's ring is brushed white gold. This detail shot is from a September church wedding in Andersen, IN. I placed the bands inside each other on top of the bride's cream colored lace clutch to capture this image. These are the rings that will forever tell the world, "I have chosen the person I want to spend the rest of my life with." This is the last time these rings will ever be photographed when they are not on someone's finger, they may even be passed down from generation to generation as a symbol of love and family. The wedding bands are typically the most treasured symbols of a couple's love for each other.

It is tradition in most wedding ceremonies for the couple to exchange the wedding rings after they have exchanged their vows. The ring is a never ending circle, symbolizing eternal love from the giver to the reciever. The band is placed on the fourth finger of the wearer's left hand because it was believed that the vein from the fourth finger went directly to the heart.

Marriage has a nice ring to it, don't you think?

Location: Andersen, Indiana.
