This is what family looks like on your wedding day.
Not just the people in dresses and suits, but the four-legged one wearing a “I Do Too” bandana, standing proudly between the newlyweds in front of the white barn at The Sixpence. The groom holds the leash, the bride beams down at their pup like she’s the final piece that made the day complete, and the whole scene radiates the kind of love that doesn’t discriminate between two legs or four.
The Sixpence is proudly dog-friendly, and it shows. From the moment you arrive for setup to the last dance, your pup is welcome to be part of everything (or as much as you want). Many couples bring their dogs for getting-ready candids in the suites, include them in the ceremony as ring bearers or flower pups, sneak them into a few portraits, and then let them relax with a trusted friend or sitter during the reception. But some, like this couple, keep their best friend right by their side for the big reveal photos in front of the barn. Willow is still a puppy, and the couple wanted her there for the first look, but the rest of the wedding day would have been too much. She was sent home after these photos were taken.
As your wedding photographer, including pets is one of my favorite things. Dogs bring an energy that’s impossible to fake: tail wags that make everyone laugh, curious head tilts during vows, and unconditional love for everyone they know.
